In the details of car beauty, such as wiping, plating, interior cleaning, waxing, etc., the wiping tools we use are almost all microfiber cloth. However, there are so many superfine fiber cloths available on the market, and the quality is also “good and bad”. Let Xiao R share with you how to choose super fiber cloth today.

Invention of super fiber cloth

Ultrafine cloth Ultrasuede was invented in 1970 by Dr. Miyoshi Okamoto. It is known as an artificial alternative to suede. And the fabric is versatile: it can be used in fashion, interior decoration, automotive and other vehicle decoration, as well as industrial applications such as protective fabrics for electronic devices.

About the characteristics of superfiber

Due to its small diameter, the microfiber has a small bending stiffness, a particularly soft fiber feel, a strong cleaning function and a waterproof and breathable effect. The ultrafine fibers have many fine pores between the microfibers to form a capillary structure, and if processed into a towel-like fabric, they have high water absorption, and a large amount of residual water can be quickly dried using a super-fiber towel after washing.

Gram

The higher the weight, the better the quality and the higher the price; on the contrary, the low-weight fabrics are cheaper and the quality is worse. The unit of weight is “g/m2” (g/m2), abbreviated as FAW. The weight of the fabric is generally the weight of the square fabric weight, and the weight is an important technical indicator of the super fiber fabric.

Grain type

In the automotive beauty industry, microfiber cloth is divided into three types of long hair, short hair and waffle. Long hair is mainly used for large-area water harvesting steps; short hair is used for details processing, plating and wiping, etc.; and waffle is mainly used for cleaning and wiping glass.

Softness

Thanks to the small diameter of the microfiber fabric, it is easy to get a very soft hand, but the softness of the towels produced by different manufacturers is not the same. The softer towels are less likely to leave scratches when wiping. Use a softer towel.

Seaming process

There are processes such as satin seams and laser seamless seams. In general, the seaming process that hides the stitches can reduce the possibility of scratching the paint.

Durability

The finer the quality, the finer fiber cloth is less likely to be shed, and it is not easy to be hard after several times of cleaning. This type of microfiber cloth has a longer durability.
