Medical technology is constantly moving forward, pushing for better fabrics and materials. With the application of high technology, new fabrics must provide unparalleled cleanliness, softness and strength. Let's take a look at the comparison of the sterilization effect of non-woven fabrics and cotton fabrics for sterilization packaging:
Compared with traditional cotton packaging, medical non-woven packaging has ideal sterilization and antibacterial effects, and reduces packaging costs. It reduces manpower and material resources to varying degrees, saves medical resources, reduces the risk of hospital infections, and is effective in controlling hospitals. The occurrence of infection plays a certain role. It can replace cotton cloth for the packaging of reusable medical equipment, and it is worthy of promotion and application.
Sterilization and effect testing
All packages are sterilized by pressure steam at the same time, the temperature is 132°C, and the pressure is 0.21MPa. At the end of the sterilization, 10 packages with self-contained biological indicators were immediately sent to the microbiology laboratory for biological culture, and the sterilization effect was observed for 48 hours.
Other packages are stored in a sterile cabinet in the sterile room of the sterile supply room. During the 6 to 12 months of the test, the sterile room shall be conducted once a month with air bacteria count of 56 to 158cfu/m3, temperature of 20 to 25℃, humidity of 35% to 70%, and surface cells of the sterile cabinet ≤5Ccfu/cm Sterilize.
1. Use performance comparison
After more than one year of use (the experiment’s July, August, and September are humid climates, and October, November, and December are dry climates, which are representative), we have summarized the performance difference between cotton-wrapped fabric and non-woven fabric, pure cotton The wrapping cloth has the advantage of good compliance, but it has the defects of cotton dust pollution and poor biological barrier effect. In the experiment, the bacteria growth of the aseptic bag is related to the humid environment, the storage condition is high, and the validity period is short; while the humid environment does not affect the medical non-woven Because of the biological barrier function of the cloth, the medical non-woven fabric has the advantages of good sterilization effect, convenient use, long storage period, and safety. The overall medical non-woven fabric is better than the cotton cloth.
2. Comparison of antibacterial effects
The experiment shows that the antibacterial effect of medical non-woven fabric is obviously better than that of cotton fabric. Because of the multi-space arrangement of medical non-woven fabrics, high-pressure steam and other media can be bent and penetrate into the show room bag, with a penetration rate of 100%, which has a high barrier effect against bacteria, and the bacteria permeation filtration experiment shows that it is as high as 98%. The bacterial penetration transition rate of cotton cloth is 8%-30%. After repeated washing and ironing, its fiber structure is deformed, resulting in sparse cloth holes and even small holes that are not easily detectable by the naked eye, resulting in the failure of packaging to isolate bacteria.
